Orangutans can be found in only Sumatra and Borneo.
The Sumatran Orangutans scientific name is the "Pongo Abelli."
Orangutan comes from two Malay words, which means "forest man."

About Orangutans:
Orangutans are primarily arboreal they spend most of their time in the trees.
Male orangutans are much larger than the females, but the baby orangutans are more dependent on there mothers.
In the wild, orangutans may live up to forty years, in zoos they can live up to 50 years
.
Orangutans are covered with a sparse course long shaggy hair which, in adults can be reddish brown.
Orangutans are extremely social, they can tell their family members apart from their group.
Orangutans walk on two feet and have opposable thumbs, like humans.
The highly intelligent orangutan is the largest tree living mammal in the world!
